Collaborators
Highschool and college students in California and across the U.S. have worked with STRONG Edutainment, Dr. Setsu Shigematsu, and theater director Rosario Arespacochaga participating in various community outreach programs, including the Princess Ten Ten and the Dark Skies musical and the Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful workshops.
“It’s not just enough to say that working on productions of Princess Ten Ten changed the course of my college career or that it impacted how I view both theatre and education. This experience led me to pursue my passion for creating and fostering an inclusive workplace wherever I go.”
— Winter Lawson
“This organization gave me and other interns the opportunity to create a program called, Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful. With the full support and guidance of Professor Setsu Shigematsu we were able to build a strong foundation for this program and branch out into middle schools in the Riverside District.”
— Sarahi Vassallo
“The organization is truly making an impact on not only the surrounding UCR communities but people around the country and world express their appreciation for the Guardian Princesses organization.”
— Bianca Smith
“Upon completing my degree, I had the opportunity to work with the S.T.R.O.N.G. Edutainment team in a close setting. At S.T.R.O.N.G., I was treated as an equal and encouraged to let my creativity soar. I was initially drawn to S.T.R.O.N.G Edutainment for their dynamic Guardian Princesses, but I have become a life-long supporter of the non-profit for their commitment to radical compassion and empowerment for all.”
— Kathy Michelle Chacón
“I joined the Guardian Princess Alliance at UCR in 2017 as an intern looking for an opportunity to apply my studies as a Media and Cultural Studies major and make a positive impact on our community through outreach, and I got to do that and more. From teaching media literacy to middle school students to assisting in putting on a theatre performance event, I grew so much professionally as well as personally thanks to the amazing opportunities that came from working with this wonderful organization.”
